A Story of Kindness and Connection

Come From Away is not just a musical; it’s an emotional journey that captures the essence of human compassion during a time of global tragedy. When 38 planes were diverted to Gander, a town with a population of barely 9,000, the locals stepped up in ways that would leave a lasting impact on both the visitors and themselves. From providing food and shelter to forming lifelong friendships, the people of Gander demonstrated the best of humanity.

Featuring unforgettable songs like “Welcome to the Rock,” “Me and the Sky,” and “Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere,” the musical showcases the stories of both the locals and the travelers. Whether you’re moved by the courage of the American Airlines pilot Beverley Bass (played by Bronte Wright), or by the unlikely friendship between Kevin J. and Kevin T. (portrayed by Nelfio DiMarco and Andrew Lorenzo), each character brings a unique and inspiring perspective to this story of hope and unity.

The cast of Come From Away in Geelong has been carefully selected to embody the spirit and warmth of this incredible tale. With seasoned performers and fresh faces alike, they are ready to bring Gander’s unique blend of humor, hospitality, and humanity to life.

✨ Claude (Mayor of Gander), played by Duncan Esler, will lead the way with his down-to-earth charm and infectious spirit.

✨ Oz, the kindhearted policeman portrayed by Mat Dwyer, will keep the peace in more ways than one.

✨ Kevin J. and Kevin T., the quirky couple played by Nelfio DiMarco and Andrew Lorenzo, will navigate the complexities of their relationship amidst the chaos.

✨ Diane and Nick—played by Sally-Anne Cowdell and Brad Beales—are strangers turned lovers, proving that love can truly blossom anywhere, even during the most trying times.

✨ Beverley, the trailblazing pilot, brought to life by Bronte Wright, will remind us all of the strength and resilience that lies within.

“Because we come from everywhere, we all come from away.” This lyric, like so many others in the show, resonates deeply, emphasizing that no matter where we come from, we can all find common ground and kindness when we need it most.

Interestingly, just as audiences anticipate every detail of a performance like Come From Away in Geelong, healthcare facilities also place a similar level of anticipation and precision on the components that ensure smooth and safe operations—albeit in a very different setting. While theatre-goers prepare for an unforgettable experience on stage, hospitals prepare meticulously to create an environment that is safe, sterile, and perfectly controlled. This connection between careful planning in entertainment and healthcare might seem surprising at first, but both rely heavily on design, functionality, and attention to detail to deliver a seamless experience—whether it’s a captivating performance or a successful surgical procedure.

Another factor to consider is how both environments manage flow. In a theatre, crowd movement, stage access, and…

While the excitement of Come From Away coming to Geelong brings communities together to celebrate stories of resilience and collaboration, there’s a quieter but equally fascinating form of innovation happening elsewhere—right on the farms that supply our everyday food. Interestingly, just like a well-orchestrated theater production, a successful chicken poultry farm requires careful planning, timing, and precision. Each bird’s environment, much like each performer on stage, must be managed thoughtfully to ensure the desired outcome.

This connects to how modern poultry operations are evolving. In the same way that a musical relies on coordination between different elements—actors, music, and stage design—a thriving broiler poultry farm depends on a blend of proper housing, nutrition, and environmental control. A well-designed poultry shed is akin to a…

It’s always exciting when a major event like Come From Away arrives in Geelong. The anticipation, planning, and coordination that go into such a large-scale performance are truly remarkable. Interestingly, behind every successful production—whether it’s a theater show, a manufacturing line, or a service operation—there’s a subtle yet powerful element at work: work measurement. Just as a production team meticulously plans lighting, sound, and stage movements to ensure the show runs smoothly, businesses rely on work measurement techniques to guarantee efficiency and consistency in their operations.

The connection may not be obvious at first, but think about it. Every task in a theater, from setting up the stage to managing ticket sales, requires time, precision, and coordination. Similarly, in industrial engineering and…

WELCOME TO THE ROCK: Come From Away is Coming to Geelong!

It’s always exciting when a world-class musical lands in your city. Productions like Come From Away remind us how stories of resilience, community, and compassion can touch lives and bring people together. Interestingly, these themes don’t only resonate on stage—they also echo in real life, especially when families face challenges that require both understanding and careful planning. One area where this connection becomes clear is in the process of managing a loved one’s estate.

Just as a musical carefully coordinates every scene and role, settling an estate requires careful attention to detail and clear guidance. When a family member passes away, the responsibility of ensuring their wishes are respected often…

From the excitement of catching a live performance like Come From Away in Geelong to managing daily routines at home, life is full of moments that require energy, focus, and vitality. Interestingly, the same attention we give to enjoying a vibrant theater experience can be applied to nurturing our children’s growth. Just as performers need fuel to give their best on stage, growing kids need proper nutrition to thrive—and this is where a protein rich veg diet comes into play.

Many parents today are exploring vegetarian lifestyles for their families, but concerns often arise: Are kids getting enough protein to support healthy growth? Can a vegetarian diet really provide all the essential nutrients that children need? The truth is, with a thoughtfully…
