A show where every performer leads the storytelling
One of the most powerful elements of Music Theatre International (MTI) Kids productions is their intentional structure. These shows are not built around a handful of leads with everyone else in the background. They are designed so every performer actively drives the story forward.
The Narrators, in this case our vibrant group of Bees, are absolutely central to the production. They are not just introducing scenes. They guide the audience, shape the rhythm of the storytelling, and hold the entire show together. This is a high-responsibility role that demands clarity, confidence, and strong ensemble awareness. These students are the storytellers of the piece.
The Animal Chorus is just as critical. In MTI Kids shows, the ensemble is the engine of the production. They build the world, create movement, support transitions, and bring energy to every moment on stage. They shift between characters, environments, and storytelling devices, often requiring more versatility than any single principal role. This is where real ensemble craft is developed.
This structure teaches young performers something essential about the industry. Theatre is not about waiting for a lead role. It is about contributing meaningfully, collaborating, and elevating the entire production. Strong ensemble performers are the backbone of every successful show, and this cast has embraced that fully.
What’s next
Tickets will be on sale soon, and this is a production worth getting behind. It is a celebration of young artists stepping into responsibility, working as a team, and bringing a classic story to life with energy and heart.
A huge congratulations to every student involved. The standard, the commitment, and the respect for each role already sets this production up for success.
