What is a Talent Agent and what do they do?
At CentreStage, we take pride in our commitment to finding professional work for our diverse roster of artists. Our goal is to help each performer find roles that match their individual skill level and profile. As a trusted first point of contact for casting directors and producers, we work hard to stay informed about each of our artist's abilities, so we can submit the right person for the right role.

Our supportive team arranges auditions for each artist and provides them with all the necessary information to audition successfully. We understand that the audition process can be stressful, so we do our best to support our artists throughout the process.

When a performer is offered a role, we take responsibility for ensuring that the terms of employment and fees are fair and comply with industry standards. Our team works hard to negotiate on behalf of our artists, so they receive the best possible compensation for their work.

In addition to our professional services, we strive to build long-lasting relationships with each of our artists. We believe that by taking the time to get to know our performers, we can provide personalized guidance to help them along their chosen career path. Am I guaranteed agency work?
At our agency, we strive to provide inclusive and supportive representation to children who have talent and potential. However, we understand that the industry is highly unpredictable, and success cannot be guaranteed for any individual. We do our best to choose children who we believe have a strong chance of success in the current market, but we cannot always predict which children will find work over the course of a single year.

We believe in honesty and transparency and always keep parents informed about their child's prospects. We encourage parents to keep in mind that a career in the performing arts takes time and dedication, and results are rarely immediate. It may take several years of hard work and patience from both the child and our team before we see significant results.
We welcome parents to contact us from time to time to check in on their child's progress. We are always happy to provide feedback and share your child's submission tracker from our database, so you can view the types of jobs your child has been put forward for throughout the year. We believe in working collaboratively with parents and children to achieve their goals and will do everything in our power to support their journey in the performing arts.

How much could my child earn?
At CentreStage, we believe that every child has the potential to succeed in the performing arts, and we work hard to ensure that our young actors are compensated fairly for their hard work and talent.

Wages depend on the type of work and the specific project involved. For example, for a child with a speaking role (LEAD) in a television commercial, fees can range from $1000 to $3000, depending on the size of the role and the duration of the commercial. For smaller or featured roles, fees can start at around $500-$800 per commercial.

Film and TV work may pay less than commercial work, and under MEAA rulings, children in Victoria are guaranteed 50% of the adult rate. As performers gain experience and build their profiles, CentreStage is able to negotiate higher fees on their behalf.

How do I know CentreStage's agents are legitimate?

What sort of work will my child be offered?

For our younger stars, television commercials offer a valuable learning experience that can also be great fun. As children progress, they will have the chance to audition for a range of roles including film, television, theatre, and musical theatre. We are also committed to providing reputable unpaid opportunities, such as student and short films, to help expand your child's experience and build their showreel. At CentreStage, we believe in providing a well-rounded experience that prepares our young performers for a successful career in the industry.
What sort of commitment will be required from a parent?
At CentreStage, we believe in working together with parents to help their child succeed in the entertainment industry. We understand that this requires a shared commitment from both the child and their parents. This includes making sure the child is available for auditions and bookings, attending regular classes and workshops, and always maintaining a professional attitude.

Our talent managers are always here to communicate with parents and offer support throughout their child's journey in the industry. As a parent, you may be asked to help film an audition video from home or drive your child to an audition in Melbourne. We also offer parent info sessions to help you better understand the industry and your child's progress. Rest assured that we are here to help and support you every step of the way.
Does my child have to be a member of the online profiles? I am worried about child safety.
At CentreStage, we take pride in keeping up with the latest technological advancements and have adopted a digital approach to our casting process. This means that we receive the majority of our briefs from casting agents via email or popular websites such as Showcast and Casting Networks. To ensure that your child is considered for the roles they are best suited for, it is essential that they have a profile on these platforms with up-to-date details, as casting directors often search for specific attributes like age, skills and experience.

We understand that the safety of your child is of utmost importance, which is why we have implemented additional child-safe platforms to complement our education platform and commitment to safety. We strive to provide a supportive environment where parents can feel confident that their child's interests are being protected while still having access to the exciting opportunities available in the entertainment industry.
